Day 31, Year 2: 4/30/2019

I learn something new every day.
Every day is an exploration of new ideas.

I do not have to look hard to find opportunities to learn. Like today, I went to an event I had heard from emails and found that it was very interesting, especially for me as an English teacher.

The talk hosted by YARN (York Asia Research Network) entitled “What is the impact of study abroad on oral fluency development? A comparison of Chinese students studying for an MA in the UK and China” by Dr. Zoe Handley, Department of Education, the University of York. Her talk was insightfully interesting. It was a study investigating the master’s degree students from China studying at a UK university.

I will spend some time reviewing the presentation slides and make a podcast episode. It will be interesting not only for my audience but also for myself as a learner in an English-speaking country and an English teacher in an English as a foreign language (EFL) context.

After the talk, I worked at the ReCSS until 6.30 before heading home. Then I went for a run with a goal to reach 10 K. but finally could only make it for 7. It was not a good day for running but a great day for working and developing myself in other aspects.
