Day 229: 11/15/2018
I have attended a number of workshops recently. Today’s workshop ranks one of the best I have attended so far.
Since I started my PhD journey at York, I have always been on a hunt for good PhD training workshops offered by the University. So far perhaps I have attended over or, if not, nearly 10 workshops ranging from writing and software to social media and higher education and time management tools, the one I attended today.
Although I am sure I can write so much about workshops, the one I attended today could be the simplest and most practical so far. As the title suggests, it was about time management and tools to help you manage your time better.
Since the workshops was rather small for less than 15 people, the trainer first asked us to introduce ourselves and ask us, why we wanted to attend the workshop. The answers varied greatly and for me it is about prioritizing the tasks at hand.
Two hours of the workshop flew by so quickly. We discussed a range of topics under the umbrella term of time management from theories, techniques, tips and tools.
One thing I remember well is that it takes strong motivation, determination and persistence to make permanent change. We also have to be honest when we evaluate our time.
I learned so much about time management and wanted to do more for my time.
