Day 81: 6/20/2018
I decided to take a break from work for a day.
I woke up but lingered in bed for a little longer today. I was not ready for work. Not that I was lazy, tired or anything. I just felt like I had worked hard yesterday and many days earlier in terms of thinking and I deserved a good break.
I had a few things on my to-do list today, one being chatting with my close friend from Teachers College, Yuhan. Realizing it, I spent time relaxing and browsing the internet to point where I was pleased and fully relaxed. It felt so good not to think about my own work for a while.
As always, it was a fun chat with Yuhan. We spent a bit over an hour updating our lives, discussing each other’s work, and exchanging research ideas. It was a full hour of fun, excitement, and inspiration. It was basically an hour virtually well spent with friend who knows me the best. I was much more refreshed, energized, inspired and ready to go again.
The rest of the afternoon was spent on grocery shopping, having dinner and personal quality time. I let my thought flow freely for a while and it felt so good. :)
I was inspired by a few videos I watched on YouTube today. Of course, as a nerdy teacher, I always look for ways to teach online or do something for my Facebook page. Again, let me be clear with this. this is because the Facebook page has been my source of support, energy and inspiration. So, I want it to be alive for my students and my students as well.
The idea that popped in my head today was that I wanted to try making some very short clips teaching everyday English in a new, fun way. Well, it is still an idea in process but I am certain that it will never be like any other clips out there on the internet now.
On a side note:
It is now clear that I am much more productive when I am busy. I am now rethinking about my time management and work schedule again.
Self-evaluation on time and life management on this: 9/10 (because I feel totally rested and ready for tomorrow.)
Research Related Notes:
It is time to go back to work. I will start by finalizing on my research proposal and then reading for my literature review write up.
