Day 283: 1/8/2019

Ready or not, the TAP 2, Year 1 took place today!

I got up early to review my notes and get ready for the meeting at 10.30. I followed my morning routine from getting up, doing some stretching, making myself some coffee to meditating. These helped me feel calm and at ease while my heart was trembling and filled with imaginations of how the meeting would go.

I was prepared, ready and thus left our apartment around 9.55. I walked to school and called my mom for her blessings. That kept me positive and gave me even more energy.

The meeting went well. I will write my reflections on it in more details later this week.

After the meeting, I had a long discussion with Jan and it was really long, for over an hour. There are many things we have agreed to make some changes and modifications to our original plan and one of them was me having to go back home to collect the baseline data next month. This changed everything.

The more I considered it and our discussion continued, I could see the benefits of me going back home for data collection for my pilot, especially that will help me to become more confident and to develop my research instruments, codings and several other aspects of my research. More importantly, by collecting the baseline data in February pr March, my intervention program will be 4 weeks longer, extended from 8 to 12 weeks, which is a significant chunk of time. Given all these advantages, the trip is worth it and benefits will sure outweigh the ticket price Therefore, I decided to go back.

Then I stopped by Justyna’s office to have lunch with her. I did not realize I miss our conversation so much. Next, I went to ReCSS and had a long discussion with my PhD office mates.

It was a long but good and productive day.
