Towards a PhD: My (Other) Identity

Day 72: 6/11/2018

Today was dedicated to my other self I had missed, me as a teacher.

I let myself be in bed a little longer to ensure that I had enough sleep and would be ready for the day ahead. Once I got up, made myself an easy dish for breakfast, I decided to carry yesterday’s day-off spirit a little longer. By that it means I did not get so much work done in the morning.

The afternoon was a different story. As planned for a few days, I devoted my entire afternoon to my very much missed identity, an English teacher. I went live on my Facebook page and was quite nervous since I had not done that for a while. Generally, it was a comparatively decent live lesson. Despite my high level of anxiety and several slips of the tongue occurred, it was a very informative, comprehensive live in a long while. Hopefully, my page followers would feel similar.

I felt fulfilled and elated after I had resumed my other role as a teacher.

The rest of the day was quite productive. A good one hour was then spent on checking feedback from friends and page followers, the next was on grocery shopping and dinner. After all, I moved on to reading for my PhD study.

Though I have not worked on my PhD proposal again as mentioned in my previous entry, I now have a pretty clear idea of what to do before the deadline approaches.

Self-evaluation on time and life management on this: 7.5/10
