Day 210: 10/27/2018
I had planned to write my reflections on the 7th supervision today but I did not. :(
I had decided since last night to take it easy for today. I woke up before my alarm clock went off and it was such a cold morning in York. As I tried to reestablish my morning routine, I went to my desk, opened the curtain and found out it was snowing. First, there were only few snow flakes which barely visible and then it became moderate snow on and off for a good hour.

The kitchen area was inevitably colder as one of the windows’ handle has been broken and could not be closed completely. P’Gluay and I had breakfast and enjoyed watching our first snow in York outside our window.
The weather remained considerably cold for the rest of the day. Nonetheless, since I had planned to do some errands I had skipped for the past few weeks as for the supervision meeting preparation, I needed to break the cold and go out.
It was a good relaxing down time for me in the afternoon despite there were a few things on my to-do list. First, I went out to Cath Kidston to pick up an order for my friends and then popped in at Crabtree and Evelyn to browse their sale items. As my stomach was crying for food, I went in a cafe just a few steps from York Minster called Cafe deConcerto for lunch and my afternoon caffeine fix. The cafe was extremely busy when I was finally seated I totally understood why.
The cafe had such a great cozy, music-themed ambience, friendly helpful staff members, and a wide selection of food and drinks. While everything looked appealing and delicious, at the end I made a safe choice of scrambled egg on toast for my lunch from their brunch menu which serves from morning to 5 pm.

With a happy tummy filled with great food, I was then ready to do some work. Though I did not get to listen to the audio from the supervision meeting yesterday because 1) I was not yet ready for it, and 2) I did not bring along my headphones, I then worked on some lighter tasks before moving on to creating a new to-do list. It was a productive afternoon but still a very light going one.
The sun set around 4.30 as the days become shorter and night longer. In an hour the clock will fall back again (happening at 2 am. to be exact). I just read a few articles regarding the British’s consideration whether to abandon the daylight savings time arrangement and to harmonize its time with other EU members. (See https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/oct/25/when-do-the-clocks-go-back-2018-last-time-they-change for more information.)
The evening was spent on grocery shopping, cooking and eating a light dinner, and killing time surfing the internet.
I did not like that I spend too much time online recently and will try to restrict from it.
