Day 14, Year 2: 4/13/2019

Happy Thai New Year’s!

Today was the day I was supposed to do a few things. At the end of the day now, I sat down to evaluate myself and found that it was not that bad after all.

This morning, P’Gluay, Tangkwa and I went to the car boot sale at the Racecourse again. While Tangkwa and I were not as excited as we were last week, P’Gluay seemed to possess a good luck. He found several car and motorcycle models he liked and bought them home at very reasonable prices.

In the afternoon, I was extremely distracted for a while albeit the attempts to pick myself up to work. I watched some YouTube videos, did two loads of laundry and still felt like not working. To tackle that feeling, I had my second and third cup of iced americanos back to back. Although it is not a good thing to do or a good habit to have, relying heavily on caffeine, it helped me mentally to get through the rest of the day fine.

I started by planning the day tomorrow making sure to add going for a run to my day after checking the weather. Also, as my main task this week is to finish the systematic schedule, I spent some time thinking and writing up the schedule adopting mostly from Jan’s (my supervisor). It was not difficult to select Jan’s coding scheme and put it in my observation schedule. What is difficult was providing sound justifications of doing so in my specific context of research. Having finished the draft, I will have to run a trial with my collected baseline data not only to build my observation skills but also to see how it functions with my setting.

My urge to work continued for another hour. I then went on to review my students’ questionnaire. I reviewed and categorized them into different headings. There is still some work to do for this part and I will work on it tomorrow.

At the end, it was one of those 8.5 points kind of day.
