Day 296: 1/21/2019

I am back!

I have waited patiently for this moment and momentum to come back and now I am beyond thrilled to see it back. Partly, I have to admit that it is because of the approaching deadline. Another part, however, is due to my strong willpower to get things done right and soon.

This morning I got up late because I had some rare difficulty falling asleep last night. I am unsure whether it was due to the high level of stress, the second Americano I had in the late afternoon or both.

Last night, I spent a significant chunk of time planning for the day and roughly for the week. It was the first trial on Trello as the task management tool. Thus, this morning I woke up with a clear set of goals in mind and went directly to work. It was not easy to concentrate at first but as the day progressed things started to settle and I picked up my work pace slowly but surely.

The main task I worked on today was to listen to the audio record of the TAP 2, Year 1 meeting. It was another chance that I learned so much in my work needs to be modified or changed. Also, I noticed a number of feedback strategies employed strategically by Dr. Jan and Dr. Louise during the meeting. As a result, it was found that I need to develop a set of critical skills to read between the lines in their feedback as well.

Overall, the feedback and suggestions are helpful. The meeting is one of the best meetings I have had so far in my PhD journey. I appreciate their continued hell and support and the fact that they both are really involved in my work and putting their time and effort to help me develop as a researcher. I am thankful for having them as my thesis supervisors.

I decided to skip recording Podcast as my body was too exhausted and needed a good rest. I am now in bed ready for a short read before falling asleep tonight.

I really hope that tomorrow will be another productive day like today.
