Day 225: 11/11/2018
Again, I failed to get up at 6 am as planned…. Sigh.
However, it did not stop there. For the next half an hour, I did not really sleep well and thus finally got up and got ready for a run around 6.30.
I first had planned to run for 10K since it has been a while that I had not run that far. Nevertheless, despite how hard I tried to accomplish my set goal by keeping listening to Podcast episodes, I did not reach the 10K mark but finished at 8.24 Km.

After that, the morning latte was served followed by a huge breakfast two on a Sunday morning like today.
That was when the slow time hit me. I was not as productive from breakfast on until noon. Nothing was done, no goals accomplished because I was browsing the internet and chatting with my friends.
Then came another fresh start, I eventually was able to force myself to take a shower, cook some lunch and study in the afternoon. I was able to finish two consecutive Pomodoro sessions before deciding to take a break and went off to B & M store and Waitrose before their early hours ended.
In the evening, my work (and study) continued. I finally finished Hennessy et al (2016) and made it half way through Hardman (2016). Along side with those reading was a comparison table created. It has now become clearer and made more sense to me of Jan’s inquiry regarding the similarities and differences of these two coding schemes.
As close attention was paid while the second read of these articles, I started to pick up some key points I had missed in my first reading. Similarly, my understanding of the two coding schemes have begun to solidify and hopefully I can compare and contrast them soon. Also, my to-do list has grown a bit longer since more articles have been added while reading these two article again.
I guess this is how PhD works….
Self-evaluation on time and life management: 7.5/10
Research Related Notes:
- I should start planning for my next supervision meeting next Thursday (11/22/18).
- My phone usage decreased for 11% from last week, which to me this is a significant decline after Facebook application was deleted from my phone. Now I cannot stop thinking whether I should delete other social media apps, especially Instagram which is my favorite.
