Day 263: 12/19/2018

I decided to make today a total relaxing day.

Waking up late because I stayed in bed a little longer. The sky was gloomy and it was the perfect accuse for me to stay inside for the entire early morning. Unlike previous days where I got up early and spent time having breakfast when the dawn was breaking, today I did not do anything but let the time pass slowly and gently.

After breakfast around 9, I stayed at the apartment and had a chat with Mo and Amon. They are Thai undergraduate students studying at the University of York and the University of Sheffield respectively. The two-hour conversation with them made me realize so many aspects about young generation life, values and beliefs. I was pleasantly surprised by so many things they shared with me including their belief and attitudes towards life, learning English and future plans. Every single minute with them was worthwhile and I am thankful to have a chance to chat with them.

In the afternoon, I went out to a cafe called La Cantine. It is a top rated cafe in Tignes. The first impression of mine was not great and the sellers seemed to discriminate against me somehow. They way they greeted and handled my transaction was filled with some unidentified unpleasant feeling. Ignoring those negative feelings, a few moments later I enjoyed my coffee and an afternoon snack watching the snow falling down outside the window. It was such a serene scene and I was calm again. I let time work and pass by steadily and slowly.

Then I walked back to the apartment in the heavy snow shower. It was such an incredible feeling I have not felt for a very long time.

It was a great day!
